This year was a tough one for me and my family. It was a tough year for a lot of people, to be honest. I certainly wasn't alone in facing some heavy personal challenges, which is why I'm tempted to say good riddance to 2014 altogether and flip it the bird on my way out. But there were a lot of positives that came out of this year: I met a ton of awesome people - many who did wonderful things that I can never repay. I visited some incredible places too and photographed a lot of special moments between family and friends. This year had challenges, yes, but I'm glad we muscled through it and carried on. Sincere thanks to so many people - you know who you are.
And now that all the sappy stuff is out of the way, I'd like to talk a little about why you're here. This is my annual Year in Photos. I did some very cool stuff and photographed a lot of great folks like Kenneth Kaloon in Gjoa Haven, and Morris and Kenny Neyelle in Deline. I even went sailing on Great Slave Lake with my buddy Julian, who taught himself to sail by reading a book! Anyway, I'm happy we lived to tell about it.
Below is a complete mishmash of photography from the past year - everything from commercial portraits, corporate work, wedding pics, travel photos, and even random pictures of people's yards. I think I have a few maternity and baby pics in there, if you can believe it. If anything, this post might give you an idea of the diverse assignments I get in the North. It was a pleasure to be part of each one of these shoots. Enjoy the photos!
