You might have noticed the posters and ads around Yellowknife promoting the Fire Up Your Career initiative for YKFD and The City of Yellowknife. I was commissioned to help bring this campaign to life, and I'm happy to play a small role in getting the word out.
The poster boy you see here is my friend Adam, a full-time firefighter who started with a paid-on-call position. He's one of several people who've benefited from this program. I hope the YKFD gets a good turnout again this year.
The setups for these photos was pretty basic: one Profoto D1 strobe and an Elinchrom Rotalux Octa 100 brellybox. From there it was just a matter of getting the right expressions and postures from Adam, who did a great job even when some of the other firefighters came by for some lighthearted ribbing.
Big thanks to Adam, the YKFD and The City of Yellowknife for having me along. Always fun photographing at the Fire Hall.
